Grinning from ear to ear

He finally smiled today. I don't have a picture yet, but I'm sure I will soon. As soon as he smiled, I had to run out the door and go to work (sigh). Various members of the family (and, yes, even my wife) insist that he has been smiling for quite some time now, but I have been holding out. I was waiting for the voluntary, repeatable smile with eye contact. And today that's exactly what I got!

Finally...an update!

Alright. Stop complaining. We are very busy people trying to figure out what to do with this new person who occupies our house. Here are some pictures to tide you over until one of us feels like writing something witty or insightful about being new parents. My parents took these pictures last week (when Judah was exactly 2 weeks and 3 days old). Having a pair of photographers for grandparents is a real blessing for us (and probably a real annoyance for Judah in the months and years to come). Normally a newborn session is not done until the baby is around six weeks old. You can tell from some of the pictures that Judah was not too big of a fan about getting a 4 week headstart!
