A future communications major?

So what's the little guy up to these days? These two videos give you a little peek. (And yes, he's naked. He's such a messy eater, it's just easier that way.)

A.D.I.T.L.O.A.S.M.O. Part Two

After a (too short) afternoon nap, daddy put me in my jumper
while he cleaned the kitchen and folded laundry.
Always glad to see mama when she gets home from work!
Rub a dub dub!
Reading (eating?) a bedtime story.

A Day in the Life of a Six Month Old (Part One)

I'm six months old today! I thought I would let you see how I spent the day.
First, I woke up. And no, I don't have any pajamas on because I was burning up last night. The mean lady at the doctor's office jabbed me in the legs 4 times yesterday, and I was miserable the rest of the day and night! Glad I don't have to go back there for another 3 months!
After breakfast daddy strapped me in the jogging stroller, and we went for a really long walk. Surprisingly, I was able to stay awake for the whole thing.
After I took a little nap, I ate some carrots and rice cereal.
I'm much better eating from a spoon than I was 2 months ago,
but it's still a pretty messy process.
After lunch, it was time for some errands. I tried to stay awake long enough for the Publix picture, but daddy remembered to get out the camera a little too late...zzzzzz.

A weekend pretending to still be young

Sorry to disappoint everyone, but this is a JGP-free post.  But don't get too upset--he turns 6 months tomorrow, and if the planets and stars align properly, I should be able to post a few pictures of the star of this blog.

This weekend me and the Mrs. got to pretend we are not old farts by going out Friday AND Saturday nights.  We were up after midnight TWO nights in a row (That is quite a feat when 9:00 is more and more becoming a normal bedtime!) and got to hear some GREAT live music.

Friday night we went to a really small concert at a loft downtown to hear two singer-songwriters with one of our best friends, Gayle.  (Thanks for watching JGP, Granny!)

Peter Bradley Adams (We had not heard of him before, but really liked him.  Can you find us in the picture?)
Matthew Perryman Jones (We really like this guy and think you should rush to buy his CD Throwing Punches in the Dark.)

Saturday night we went to City Stages (Birmingham's annual street music festival).  We went primarily to hear Ben Harper (who was AMAZING!!!) but also really enjoyed hearing North Mississippi Allstars and Buddy Guy (who is getting on up there in years, but can still rock!).  Thanks to Gayle who stayed up VERY late watching the little man, so we could go have fun.

Please tilt your head to the left 90 degrees.

Now we have less of the sliding-foot-shuffle and more actual jumping. Enjoy.

Jumping Around (kinda)

So we hit the yard sales again recently. For those of you who are relatively new to the blog and don't already know of our fondness (obsession?) of the yard sale, you can catch up a little here and here. On this recent outing we were specifically looking for a baby jumper for JGP. We found one at the very first place we stopped. Cheap. Clean. Very good condition. Check, check, and check. We also found lots of great stuff we weren't even looking for. Two of those Velcro swaddle blankets in a larger size (Is 5 1/2 months too old to be swaddling your baby? I dunno, but he sure does sleep better that way. Even if it does look like a straight-jacket.), 2 unopened, unexpired cans of the formula we are using (I'm too embarrassed to tell you how little we paid; it was basically robbery.) and two boxes of the pre-measured formula-on-the-go packets (We would NEVER buy those at the store--they are way too expensive, but at yard sale prices they sure are nice to have.). Enjoy the pictures of the jumper in use. He seems to really enjoy it, though he seems to do more of a sliding-foot-shuffle rather than actually jumping. See you out this Saturday morning!
