Feel Good Music

This week has been really hard - it's my first week leaving Judah at home and working full days and other stuff has been going on that has me feeling blue. I definitely am praying regarding said situations but one of my other coping mechanisms has been music. I get in my truck on the way to and from work and crank up the Ipod! Here's what's on my heavy rotation these days.

King Harvest "Dancing in the Moonlight" - This is my personal favorite right now. Just hearing the keyboard/piano? entry makes me smile. I have always loved this song - it makes me think of warm weather and being at the river. Imagine my surprise when it came on a Walmart commercial last night - I just had to pick up Judah so we could dance.

Quiet Riot "C*m On, Feel the Noize" - Everyone my age went through the 80s metal period and this song still remains a favorite. I can remember skating to this song and it still makes me want to move my feet.

Pete Townshend "Let My Love Open the Door" - Okay, so Pete didn't have that distinguished of a solo career and this doesn't even begin to match recordings of The Who, but who can resist such a fun song? I'm going for mood enlightening, not music credibility here. I first heard this song in the final scene of the movie "Jersey Girl" - the movie wasn't that good but I had to go look up the song and I have enjoyed it ever since.

I promise to post next time with what people really care about - pics of the cutest baby in the world!

I care about you! I've thought about you many times this week, I just haven't picked up the phone to call you. Let's hang out soon, please!

Oh...I remember that week I went back to work. Very hard, indeed. I'll be praying for you this week. I liked your comment about still processing the whole parenthood thing. I am too...I still don't have a grasp on what just happened to me...now 2 years later. The whole, having to go back to work thing adds a whole 'nother dimension of processing. Knowledge of the soverienty of God is great thing...it has often halted the processing long enough to let my mind REST.
Enjoy that sweet smiling baby!
