Moving Out

I am still really behind on blogging but wanted to post some pics from our move. We have loved, loved being in Cahaba Heights so it was hard for me when we put our house on the market, even though one of our good friends, David Mackle, listed it for us. We had two contracts that fell through but fortunately the third time was the charm. JM brought up his mom for packing detail and she is a packing machine! As you can see, Judah was in charge of the laundry. I just dropped in to take pictures every so often.
I had forgotten how awful moving is - we have a lot of stuff and we ended up packing right up to the night before the new owners took possession. We completely filled up the largest Uhaul truck available and then had my dad's truck and trailer loaded down like Jed Clampett. Then the Uhaul got stuck in the mud in our front yard and when we got to SC the manse was not ready for us to move in... it was quite an adventure. But we finally got our stuff moved and we have been living in an apartment by Target (which is an entirely different story for another time!)

Sounds like you could have used my dad's old cattle trailer! ;-) Can't wait to catch up with you.

wow! sad! that's all i can say. moving is definitely a pain in the rear. you know, it's going to take me like 6 months for it to soak in that you don't live here. =)

After marrying into the military life I've learned that professional packers/movers are worth every penny! I feel sad the you guys are moving farther away...which is insane since I don't even live in AL...but there you have it! Hope you guys enjoy SC. Can't wait to hear about Target.
